Background: Woodside School, a listed granite building, is built on two levels, with a separate nursery block. A school was first established in this area in 1837, with the present building built between 1890 and 1904. Alterations were made in 1957 and are still ongoing. It has 16 classrooms, a special educational needs base, a gym, an assembly hall, an upper and lower stages library, a computer suite and two nursery classrooms. .
