General information
Background: Opened in 1976, Monifieth High has occupied its current building since 1979. The school is modern, compact, well heated and surrounded by extensive grounds. School facilities include a swimming pool, games block, specialist teaching areas for art and design, music, science and technical education, in addition to a new library and conference room which were completed in 1998. Strong links have been established with local churches, schools and other organisations. Monifieth is twinned with Soyaux in the Charente region of France and pupils have the opportunity to pay a visit to the town. Extra-curricular activities include bridge, swimming, chess, badminton, yearbook, scribing, soccer, rugby, hockey, volleyball, basketball, fitness, Young Engineers and Duke of Edinburgh's award scheme.
