General information
Background: Courtland School is set in the suburb of Mill Hill, and has established a reputation in recent years as the best performing primary in Barnet for Key Stage 2. The building dates back to 1954, and has grounds to both the front and rear, including a playing field. The strengths in core subjects within the curriculum are balanced by focus in other areas to help reach every childs maximum potential. Recently winning the Barnet Schools Health Award for promoting Psychological Health, Courtland looks for more than just academic achievement in its students. Good relationships have been fostered with the local secondary school, Mill Hill County, and the local primary special school, Northway. The school has a successful orchestra and places emphasis of this and other extra-curricular activities, again, to balance and broaden the child's education. The pupils themselves continue to raise money for charities, especially those involving children.
