General information

Background: A village school, Clandown Primary is housed in a Victorian building dating from 1860 when it was built on the site of an old quarry, on land donated by the church. The school offers four main teaching areas and a central library, for one infant and two junior classes. Attached to the main school building is the old school house which provides office space and a small extra teaching area. In addition to the normal school curriculum a variety of extra-curricular activities is available, including hand bell ringing, art and sports. A school camp programme has also been developed for children in Year 6. The school is closely involved with the village community, taking part in events such as the village fete, entertaining senior citizens and fundraising.
