General information

Background: Newbridge Junior stands on 'extensive' grounds on the western outskirts of Bath. The main two-storey building contains eight classrooms, a hall with gymnasium and stage, dining hall, library, quiet study/art gallery area and an indoor swimming pool. Five temporary classrooms have been added and provide specialist facilities for music and food technology and a special educational needs base. One of the two 'large', surfaced play areas was landscaped to provide a quiet play area in 1995. After school, pupils may learn a musical instrument, sing in the choir, play netball, football, hockey, rugby, handball, table tennis, cricket or short tennis and join the chess, drama, gymnastics and athletics clubs. Music is a special means of communication and expression, impacting on many aspects of life. Music lessons enable pupils to encounter a wide range of musical styles and develop skills in listening, composing and performing. This school has a dynamic learning environment.
