Headteacher: Hazel Rowan, appointed in September 1996.

Staff: 8 (men 1, women 7).

Background: Formerly known as Cabin Hill; opened in new building within grounds of Campbell College on outskirts of Belfast in May 2006; has pre-school kindergarten, for boys and girls aged three and four. Proud of 'state-of-the-art learning facilities' and impressive staff-pupil ratio. Access to all facilities on site; pastroal house system. French for Preps 5-7; specialist teaching of art and music. Notable coaching in sports and games. Healthy-eating policy. Extra-curricular activities include badminton, cricket, swimming, computers, Scripture Union, archery, mini-rugby, tennis, cross-country, chess, gymnastics, football, and art. Sportsmark. Before-school care, from 8.15am; after-school club open until 6pm. Ethos: 'A caring, family orientated school that promotes academic, sporty and cultural excellence.' .

Approach to discipline: 'Our discipline policy makes clear that all issues are dealt with promptly. The teacher, child and his parents work together to maintain high discipline standards and each child is aware of set procedure for dealing with breaches of discipline.'

Uniform: Black-and-white striped blazer, grey shirt, grey trousers, house tie, black shoes..

Special needs: Appointed special educational needs corrodinator (SENCO) with timetabled time to work with any child with special needs. Peripatetic help from education and library board as appropriate.
