Background: Campbell College was founded in 1894 by Henry James Campbell and has since become one of the leading schools in Northern Ireland. Campbell is a single-sex school which provides a balanced and rounded education for 870 boys, 60 of whom are boarders. Campbell College stands in an impressive wooded estate of some 100 acres located in the eastern suburbs of the city. The school indeed fortunate that all the academic, boarding and sporting needs of the college and its new junior school (moving to a new site close to the main college buildings in Easter 2006) are catered for within these grounds. The sporting facilities on site include a sports hall, fitness suite, swimming pool, squash courts, tennis courts, all weather pitches and an extensive range of playing pitches. Two new synthetic hockey pitches will come into use this academic year.The investment in facilities over the last eighteen months has seen the addition of ten classrooms, two ICT suites, a second sports hall, two new sports changing areas, together with major improvements to our boarding department. Ethos: 'Welcoming, friendly atmosphere, with an emphasis on the total curriculum.' .
