General information

Background: Hurst Primary School was built in 1936 and is situated on a large campus in the middle of a residential area in Bexley. The building is set within grounds with three playgrounds and two large fields, and it also has seven additional Key Stage 1 classrooms, shared areas, WCs and a nursery block. The New Year 5 and 6 block was built in 1999. A new library was added in 2003 and a media resource centre in 2004. The lower school was built six years ago and the classrooms are spacious and well equipped, all leading onto the playground. One wing of the new building is an Early Years Unit. Extra-curricular activities include drama, French, dance clubs and choir. The school aims to create a happy and safe environment, which enables the full potential of each individual to be achieved in an ever-changing world.
