General information

Background: Founded in 1933, the school offers a 'pleasant' learning environment in 'light and airy surroundings'. It is located at the heart of a 'pleasant' residential area of North Shore Blackpool, where its pupils experience 'few of the serious disadvantages of some areas'. The school's expectations of pupils in these circumstances is that they 'should be capable of high achievement'. It has 'earned the respect of the local community for consistently high academic standards and wider educational achievements'. Sports played at the school include rugby, football, netball and athletics, and in 1999 it won the Fleetwood RUFC under-11 trophy. Other school clubs include recorders, drama group and choir. 'The school endeavours to create and maintain an ethos which supports the all round development of children and the achievement of their potential.' .
