General information

Background: Glyncoed Comprehensive hosts new developments such as a 10 classroom two storey-block with new dining hall and canteen facilities, a new changing block, basketball court and all weather surface football pitch. Work begins in April 2004 on a new gymnasium to hold four full size badminton courts and changing areas along with a new Rugby/Football grass pitch. Since it changed to an 11-16 school, Glyncoed has consistently achieved top grades within the Blaenau Gwent area and is on par or above National average on A*-C grades obtained for GCSEs. As a school, the school sees itself as an integral part of the wider community. We encourage pupils to develop positive attitudes towards learning and to recognise that education and training are part of a life-long experience .
