General information
Background: This long-established school is situated in Eyemouth, eight miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed in an area heavily dependent upon the fishing industry. It serves the narrow strip of eastern Berwickshire from the village of Cockburnspath in the north to the English border. Facilities include a 'well-stocked' library, and on offer as part of the extra-curricular programme are rugby, hockey, badminton, soccer, orchestra, scripture union and a Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. The school has been particularly successful in public-speaking, and in rugby competitions at a national level. All fourth-year pupils and many seniors participate in one week's work experience and there are annual prizegiving and graduation ceremonies.
