General information
Background: Hawick is a town of around 15,000 inhabitants and is located in the Scottish Borders. The town has a number of schools, though Hawick High is the only secondary school in the town. The library resource centre occupies part of the Henderson building and was purpose-built during the school refurbishment programme in 1992. It is a bright, pleasant and busy area, used by all year groups and staff throughout the day. It provides comfortable seating for 75 users on two floors. The upper floor is equipped with study booths and it is a designated quiet study area for S6 pupils. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. .
