Background: Lauder Primary School is located in Crofts Road where educational facilities have been available since 1863. A fifth classroom was added in 1977 when part of the playground was built over. In 1987 another classroom was built upstairs, giving them six classrooms for the seven stages of primary education. With a roll of around 150 in the primary school there must always be some composite classes in the school. The school playground is suitable for outdoor games of football or netball. The nearby public park is used for games and athletics. The school aims to provide a safe and pleasant environment for effective learning.
