General information
Background: Broadmoor Primary School is a Bracknell Forest Borough Council school, which was founded on its present site in 1863, on land provided by the Broadmoor Institution. The school is located in Lower Broadmoor Road in Crowthrone. It has its own site, which includes a large playing field and nature area. The school has grown to seven classes, catering for children between the ages of five to 11 years. All of the classes and the library are located in the school buildings, organised around the central courtyard and main hall. The Crowthrone Parish nursery is also located on the school site, catering for children of pre-school age. Rugby, cricket, netball, soccer and hockey team sports are offers within the physical education curriculum. The school also takes part in the Bracknell Forest rugby, cricket and athletics festivals. It also participated in the bi-annual carnival procession and the music festival held at Wellington College. The Broadmoor School association exists to raise funds on behalf of the school, and to arrange social activities for everyone involved with the school. The school also received Healthy School Gold award in June 2002.
