General information

Background: Wyke Manor School is situated in Wyke near Bradford. It is a community school and its site provides excellent facilities for the whole neighbourhood. The school provides day nursery facilities, before-school and after-school care, a wide range of day and evening courses and access to the advanced computer facilities in its specially designed and refurbished accommodation. It takes pride in its wide range of specialist facilities which include newly equipped science laboratories and technology rooms, ICT suites, drama studio, dance studio, music studio, recently refurbished library, new art rooms, sports hall, two gyms and extensive playing fields. Students at the school enjoy a range of extra-curricular activities, which broaden their horizons and give them learning experiences beyond the classroom. These include award winning young engineers club, art club, instrumental music lessons and after-school study support. Music and drama are an important part of school life. Opportunities for performance include annual carol service, stage performances for musicals, talent shows and contributions to assemblies and other school events. The school runs teams in a wide choice of sports, including football, rugby league, netball, rounders and athletics. The school provides a safe and vibrant environment where learning can take place. It aims to open hearts and minds to possibilities and potential and to offer every member of its community the chance to succeed.
