General information

Background: Donnington Primary School is one-from entry school with a full-time nursery. It also has an associated playgroup with morning and afternoon sessions for children aged two to four. It has 30 children in all its classes and is a popular and over-subscribed local school. Its intake is mixed and clearly reflects the diverse social and economic make-up of this part of London. This school is a Beacon School. Its main focus is on supporting development of, and sharing good practice in, literacy, numeracy, early years provision, information and communication technology, gifted and talented programmes and further development of good practice in one-form entry schools. The caring ethos of all members of its school community is the key to the success of all its children's learning. Over the year Donnington has achieved success in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 SATs. Extra-curricular activities may be offered depending upon the time of year and availability of staff and volunteers from the school community. They may include: football, netball, chess club, drama club, Kung Fu. At Donnington it aims to create an environment that enables children to grow in curiosity, competence, resourcefulness and understanding. It values each child as an individual and no child will be discriminated against on grounds of gender, race, creed or ability.
