Background: St Christopher?s school is a small co-educational preparatory school situated in a busy residential area of Wembley. It currently has 119 pupils (53 boys and 66 girls) between the ages of four and eleven years of age. The school was founded in 1928 and is now owned by Happy Child Ltd forming part of a group of schools whose budget is managed centrally by the proprietor-director of the company. Some policies and practices are centrally agreed and operated in all schools in the company. However, the headteacher is responsible for the management and development of the curriculum within the school. .

Inspection: June 2004: ?The school is emerging from a period of significant change. The staffing is becoming settled and strengths are emerging. However, teachers have no job descriptions. Important developments have taken place but approaches to school improvement are not yet systematic. The school is appropriately led and management is sound. Teaching is good overall and pupils are happy and well behaved. The school is happy and productive and cares very well for its pupils? welfare and support them very effectively.?.
