Inspection: October 2004: 'The Stonelands School of Ballet and Theatre Arts provide a very high standard of vocational education in its specialist curriculum, which is supplemented by strong provision in academic subjects. The pupils benefit from the integrated timetable which provides a stimulating and varied educational diet. Teaching is very good and often excellent, most notably in ballet, dance, singing and drama. The timetable enables expertise in one area to be transferred to another, for instance in drama GCSE. The standard of teaching in the academic curriculum is high and is informed by very careful planning. The behaviour of pupils is impressive, and there is a powerful ethos of mutual support and care throughout the school, and in its boarding provision. Pupils are encouraged to express themselves with confidence and clarity and they rise to high and exacting standards.'
