General information

Background: Colston's Girls' School provides a first-class education in a city centre setting.The buildings and facilities are appropriate for the number of pupils and for the breadth of the curriculum that they pursue. Most subjects have well-equipped specialist facilities or designated teaching areas. The school has in place a very good range of well-maintained, networked computers with screened access to the Internet. Together with the effective library and other book and non-book resources, they provide good opportunities for pupils to learn independently and develop study and research skills for themselves. Most but not all subjects exploit them for these purposes. Textbooks, audio-visual and other resources at each stage in the school are of sufficient quantity and quality to support teaching and learning effectively and they enable pupils to achieve high standards.The school provides a good variety of extra-curricular activities in music and sport. .
