Background: Opened in 1957. Reorganised in 1970 into two schools: infant school in new buildings, and junior school in original buildings. Two- or three-form-entry school. 'The school wants children to thrive on success in their intellectual, practical, personal and social development in a happy, challenging and secure environment.'Over-subscribed. After-school care, until 5.30pm. DfES achievement award. 'Elmlea Junior School is passionate about learning. The school believes that high expectations for all pupils are very important. These expectations exist in the context of a demanding, challenging, thinking curriculum. It is a curriculum that is inclusive, that supports and challenges all learners.' .
