Inspection: 2000: Babington House is a friendly, caring school with many more strengths than weaknesses. It enables pupils to make very good progress in relation to their abilities, and to achieve standards that exceed national expectations at each of the transition stages. Results achieved in external exams are good, though the school's effectiveness extends well beyond this. The overall values of the community, the sense of responsibility displayed by the pupils and the quality of relationships all characterise the life of the school. The school has a good foundation to support the development and improvements it needs to undertake, in which it will be greatly assisted by its very hard-working and committed staff and headmistress.
