General information
Headteacher: Marilyn Trask.
Inspection: April 2006: ?Bromley High School has many great strengths and no significant weaknesses. Leadership and management are highly successful in achieving the aims of the school and in guarding its distinctive ethos where all members of the community are valued, and know they are valued, for themselves. The attainment of pupils of all ages is good in relation to their ability, and pupils also achieve high standards in the many extra-curricular activities offered to them. Pastoral care and the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils are among the major strengths of the school. Relationships between pupils and between pupils and the staff are very good. Almost all pupils have, for their ages, a mature attitude to learning, are confident and enjoy their work. They treat all members of the school community with respect. The previous inspection took place in 2000, and almost all aspects of the school?s provision received high praise. The school has maintained these high standards. In addition, it has improved the quality of its library facilities, notably in the Senior School, but also in the Junior School; its registers now comply fully with statutory regulations; use of baseline information for monitoring pupils? progress has been introduced and computerised systems for tracking each pupil?s development are currently being set up. The consistency of marking and assessment across the curriculum has improved. Many effective strategies for increasing the intellectual challenge to pupils in both the Junior and Senior School have been devised and implemented. The school meets all the regulatory requirements.?.
