General information
Headteacher: Catherine James, appointed in January 1999.
Background: Farringtons and Stratford House are situated in wooded parkland in Chislehurst, 12 miles southeast of central London. The buildings include a full-size dance studio and weights room, and an outdoor, heated swimming pool. There is accommodation with new refurbished bedrooms. The music and drama departments sing regularly at the Royal Festival Hall and Westminster Abbey. Girls participate in the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and the Young Enterprise Scheme. There are numerous clubs, from computers to fencing, debating to jazz dance.
Uniform: School uniform is worn except in the sixth form.
Higher education: 100%.
Special needs: Learning support is available for girls with dyslexia and EFL lessons for overseas students.
