Background: Hawes Down Infant School was opened in 1933. It is a two-form entry Infant School with the majority of the children continuing their education at Hawes Down Junior School on the same site. The classes are organised in year groups with children remaining with the one teacher for an academic year. The school aims to provide broad and balanced curriculum. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The school aims to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment where children of all abilities are encouraged to achieve their full potential.
