General information

Background: Highfield Junior School is a mixed foundation junior school catering for pupils between the ages of seven to 11 years. Pupils are admitted at the beginning of the academic year in which they will reach their 8th birthday. The school is situated in South Hill Road, in a pleasant residential area less than a mile from the centre of Bromley. There are currently 384 children on roll accommodated in 12 classrooms, four of which were newly built two years ago. There is also a computer room, an audio-visual room/library, a TV/conference room and a music room. The school has a large hall, tuition rooms, a technology bay and a medical room. There are three hard playgrounds and a large playing field on site. A variety of extra-curricular activities are arranged during lunch breaks and after school, which include recorders, pop lacrosse, football, rugby, netball, rounders, cross country running, cricket, tennis, computer club, chess and art Club. The school aims to establish a safe and secure, well structured learning environment, where all the children can progress with confidence and reach their own potential and to foster good standards of behaviour based on mutual respect and consideration for others, in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
