General information

Background: Holy Trinity College is a Catholic independent day school and a member of the Girls' School Association. The school opened in 1888 with a roll of 42 pupils. It now has a total number of 580 pupils, including boys and girls in the nursery. There are, on average 50 girls in the sixth form. The grounds have lawns, gardens and woodland. The school building has art rooms with pottery kiln, modern craft, design and technology rooms, two libraries, computer suite with a network throughout the school and access to the internet, music area, practice rooms and specialist music rooms, and two main halls used for music, drama and other events. There is also a separate, newly refurbished sixth form common room, a careers room, a drama studio and a dining hall. Facilities for sport include a heated outdoor swimming pool, an all weather hockey pitch, six tennis courts, four netball courts, rounders pitch, extensive playing fields with 200 meter track, large gymnasium in the senior school and fully equipped physical education areas in the preparatory. Over the last few years, teams and individuals have won district and country hockey, netball, tennis and athletics awards. All girls leave HTC with a nationally accredited qualification in information technology and most girls study nine or 10 subjects at GCSE.
