General information

Background: Chenies School was founded in 1846 by the Duchess of Bedford for the children of workers on the Bedford Estate. It is situated in the middle of Chenies village. The three original classrooms are still in use, although they have been modernised and added to over the years. The school now has five classrooms, one of which is used as a practical room, as well as a library, hall and changing rooms. Within the school boundary there are also playgrounds, a garden and field. Extra-curricular activities include gym club, football, netball, drama and a Friday club. The school supports village events and maintaining close links with local businesses, farms and sports clubs.
