General information

Background: The school is situated in its own, well-maintained grounds on the edge of Great Missenden. It is a voluntary controlled primary school with approximately 390 children on roll, ranging in age from rising fives to eleven. The school has a department for five hearing-impaired children and they are fully integrated into the mainstream school. The school has also a nursery for four year old children in a recently refurbished and well-equipped classroom, with its own secure playground. In April 2004 the school gained ?Extended School Status?.The original school was founded in 1823, with more recent buildings for teaching and administration. An additional new classroom was opened in March 2000, and a temporary classroom for group teaching in 2005. The school benefits enormously from an active PTA who have raised funds for projects such as a dome cover for the heated swimming pool, and for playground equipment and shelters.Classrooms are light, spacious and well equipped for all subjects and there is an Information & Communications Technology suite with access to the internet. All classrooms are networked and have interactive whiteboards. The school has well resourced library and reading room. The professional hardworking team of teachers prevail liveliness and enthusiasm of extra-curricular activities like; music, choir, and orchestra. A friendly and inclusive school which aims for excellent results for all children, whatever be their level of ability.
