General information

Background: Lent Rise School was founded in April 1993 in a 'traditional' brick built building in 'beautiful' grounds close to Burnham Beeches. It was the first of the Beacon schools and consequently has been involved in school-centred initial teacher training, an initiative started by Prince Charles in 'nationally outstanding' schools to promote good practice in education. Extra-curricular activities are provided by all staff and members of the wider community, including football for girls and boys, creative craft, fun with mathematics, fun with words, computer club, quiz club, pottery, hockey and cookery. Pupils were proud to win the Buckinghamshire Football Cup and to be top of the league in 1999. The Lent Rise School Association is 'very active', raising funds to support learning initiatives within the school. The school has 'capped' numbers at 30 in a class and has two applications for every place.
