General information

Background: Ley Hill school, situated east of Chesham in Buckinghamshire, was founded in 1920, and was originally known as Ley Hill Council School. In 1927 the school moved into a new building, which is one of the present classrooms, on the current site. It has since been extended. The school has a multi-purpose playing field, hard play surfaces, a jumping pit and a large hall. Competitive sports matches and events are regularly arranged with other schools and there are close links with local sports clubs, notably in cricket, football, rugby, table tennis and horse riding. Extra-curricular activities include art and craft, chess, choir, cricket, dance, drama, football, gardening, netball, orchestra, recorders and table tennis. The school has tuned and untuned percussion instruments and a range of keyboards. There are a range of computers, including a number with CD-ROM systems.
