Background: Lewis Girls? is situated in Ystrad Mynach but its pupils come from a catchment area of approximately 40 square miles. Close links exist between Lewis Girls? and its feeder primary schools. The school consists of three blocks of buildings and the sports centre. The stafff is committed to the provision of a wide range of extra-curricular activities. The governing body of the school numbers twenty and includes representatives of the LEA, parents, teaching staff, business and the local community. The school aims to provide pupils with a broad, balanced, differentiated and relevant education and to develop positive attitudes to learning by attempting to make it enjoyable and rewarding.
