General information

Background: Bradshaw School is a community school for boys and girls aged four to 11 years. The school is located in the village of Bradshaw, to the north of the largely residential areas of Holmfield and Illingworth with open countryside beyond. It occupies a spacious and attractive site that includes playing fields and surfaced and garden areas for outside activities. The original school building was built in 1877, but has been extended in 1970 and 2001. This now provides six classrooms, a school hall, resources room, an art technology area and a food technology room. A separate new building was opened in 1978 as a purpose-built infant department and a new ICT suite was opened in this building in 2003. The school provides a variety of extra-curricular activities including tuition in various musical instruments, an art/craft club, gardening club, computer club, choir and various sporting activities, which include training in football, netball, hockey, rugby and basketball. The school is well supported by the parent teacher association in fundraising and social events for the benefit of the school. The school aims to educate children in an environment that is challenging, exciting and purposeful and in which everyone experiences success. .
