General information

Background: Founded in 1884, Longroyde is set in lovely grounds with playing fields, a playground and a marvellous science environmental area, including a pond, to the rear of the building. A range of extra-curricular activities is offered including choir, chess, drama, computers, football, rugby, gymnastics, recorder and instrumental ensemble. The under-11 football team has had many local successes. The active parents and friends association raises money for the benefit of the children each year and a school council action group is run by staff and children for the benefit of the community. The school has achieved the following awards: Investors in People, DfES achievement award, Basic Skills Quality Mark. The school is a welcoming, open and friendly school with a positive ethos and tone where the views of children and parents are valued.
