General information

Background: Founded in 1877 Salterlee is a smaller than average primary school on the fringe of Halifax. It admits pupils aged from four to 11 years. The school offers French from four to 11, specialist ICT teaching. Every child in KS 2 learns a musical instrument from trumpet to clarinet. The school was awarded Grant Maintained status in 1992 and became a Foundation School. The wide ranges of extra curricular activities include drama, football chess, running and cricket. The school creates an atmosphere where every child fulfils their potential and enjoys learning through a rich and balanced curriculum.
