General information

Background: Founded in 1904, the school occupies a Victorian building, which is built into the hillside. Shade Junior has its own swimming pool and good view of the surrounding area. The school's range of activities include a choir, football, netball and swimming. There are a wide variety of links to the community, from rest homes to parent toddler groups. Funds are raised for a range of charities and the school's 'fundraising prowess' is 'well-known' locally. Pupils benefit from access to a fully networked information and communication technology (ICT) suite with 15 computers. An 'early birds' reading club is operated before-school each day. The school aims to ensure that every child feels a valued and cared for member of the school community. The school celebrates its centurion this year and is looking forward to the many planned events.
