General information
Background: Founded in 1870; has occupied its present building since 1894; extended in 2002, with four classrooms, ICT suite/library and a hall; situated in semi-rural village of Warley, three miles from Halifax. Sports activities include football, rugby, rounders, netball, swimming, athletics, cross-country, running, orienteering, country dancing and maypole dancing. Extra-curricular activities: choir, dancing, football, ICT, athletics, running and outdoor pursuits. There is also an annual outdoor pursuit residential visit for Years 5 and 6. School choir. Links with the community are good; annual concert and tea party for old villagers and friends of the school. 'The school exists to provide a range of memorable experience for each individual developing their full potential within a caring family environment.' Over-subscribed, with two applications per place. Basic Skills Quality Mark; Activemark Gold. Ethos: 'Friendly, warm, helpful atmosphere; celebrating successful achievement.' .
