General information

Background: Abbey Meadows Primary School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is five to 11. The new school building opened in February 2002. It is a single-storey construction with 14 classrooms, two halls, a library, offices, a computer suite, and staff room, kitchen and dining hall. The school also enjoys two large playgrounds and extensive grounds, which provides for football, cricket and other outdoor games. The school offers a wide range of practical, stimulating activities to inspire the children and to fire their imaginations. The school has various sporting fixtures with other schools in the area and there are football, netball and athletic tournaments that usually take place in and out of school time. Various clubs are held after-school throughout the school year and may include recorders, football, netball, drama etc. The school aims to create opportunities for children and to develop a critical facility in each child to interpret the world around them.
