General information

Background: Bassingbourn Village College was opened in 1954 as one of the Henry Morris Cambridgeshire community colleges to provide a centre for lifelong learning. It is situated in extensive grounds in the south of the county, two miles from Royston and the Hertfordshire border. The original buildings have been enhanced by a new technology suite, ICT and English rooms, library resource centre, ICT business centre, sports pavilion and floodlit hard courts. It aims to provide a broad and balanced curriculum. The school provides extensive extra-curricular programme and have a number of fixtures throughout the year. The school has received Artsmark and Sportsmark awards. 'The college aims to encourage its pupils to actively support others and take pride in caring for the environment.' .
