General information

Background: Foxton Primary School is situated in the centre of the thriving South Cambridgeshire village of Foxton on which Rowland Parker based his famous historical work. The original Victorian building has since been converted into a hall and is supplemented with a pleasant library, a hard play area, an adventure playground, grassed areas and a heated learner swimming pool. There are plans for an exciting village community project to create new accommodation for the school, a village hall and some new housing. The school plays a central role in the village and the community provides support in every aspect of school life including Extra-curricular activities. The school encourages a love of music and instrumental tuition is offered to a small number of pupils?. Other Extra- curricular activities include football, netball, cricket, chess, recorders and French. Pupils? are taken on visits to places of educational interest during the year and in the summer term Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in a school journey. A lively organisation called the Friends of Foxton School raise funds for the school organises social events and encourages an active, vibrant partnership between home and school. Pupils? are taught in four mixed ability groups and a programme of structured support is available to those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
