Background: Founded in 1843; six-class school serving two villages of Great Shelford and Little Shelford; spacious and well-decorated; attractive and secluded grounds at rear, cramped access at front; separate library, large music room; hard and grassed areas, with climbing equipment; also fitness trail and wildlife garden. Full extra-curricular programme, including French, Italian, Spanish, Latin, chess, orchestra, football, rugby, netball and handbell ringing. Regular newsletters to parents. Parent-teacher association, raising #5,000 a year. Over-subscribed, with 1.1 applications per place. After-school care, until 6pm.
