General information

Background: Kings Monkton School was established in 1870, and is a co-educational independent day school of 400 children from nursery age right up to university entrance, situated on a single, purpose-built site close to Cardiff city centre. Specialist facilities include a well-equipped gymnasium, excellent laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology, an art studio, a technology workshop, two computer suites, a library as well as facilities for drama and music. There is an excellent dining hall with a wide choice of meals and snacks on offer each day. .

Inspection: November 2003: 'Pupils reach good standards in relation to their ability and their attainment is above the national average for schools with a similar ability range. They also reach good standards in their personal development. The very good support and guidance offered to all pupils and the positive response of pupils create a school in which success, tolerance and harmony are key features.'
