General information

Background: Opened in 1895, the school still uses the original Victorian buildings, to which a flat-roofed school hall was added in the 1970s. It became a county primary in 1982 and a nursery was added in 1988. It serves a small catchment area in Roath Park but more than a third of children come from outside the area. Slightly more than a third are from ethnic minority backgrounds and speak different languages. 'Excellent' parental support. Performing arts and games are a strength. Over-subscribed.
