General information

Background: The original building, on eastern side of llanelli, was opened in January 1913; extensions were built in 2002 as a result of class-size reduction. New extension incorporates a computer suite with video-conferencing facilities. Although the school does not possess a hall, great emphasis is laid upon performing music and all aspects of physical education. The school's junior choir is well known in the area as a contributor to concerts in Llanelli. The school takes part in the National Festival of Music for Youth. The school has sports teams in cricket, soccer, rugby, netball, rounders, swimming, orienteering and athletics. Supports two charities a year. Basic Skills Quality Mark (2002). Ethos: 'We encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own actions and to be caring towards others. It also attempts to get its pupils to do their best at all times when given set tasks or projects.' .
