General information

Background: Established in 1968 in premises that previously accommodated boarding and day convent school; mixture of old and new, with some buildings dating back to 1930s; others built in recent years. Within 10 minutes' walk from centre of Aberystwyth; draws pupils from wide area around Aberystwyth. Awarded joint first place in 1999 in national weather competition for schools, for which it received £5,000 worth of satellite weather monitoring equipment and a trip to Techniquest in Cardiff. Three soccer teams in local leagues, two hockey teams and netball team; teams also represent the school at swimming, athletics and cricket. Each term, pupils are involved with major fundraising event. Basic Skills Quality Mark; International Schools Award.
