General information

Background: Alsager School became a comprehensive in 1971 on a site previously occupied by Alsager County Secondary School. The school has an excellent range of facilities including a purpose-built technology block, a new learning resource centre well equipped with PCs, four additional PC suites, a drama studio, music block and a joint-use leisure centre with floodlit all-weather synthetic pitch. It is the only secondary school in the town and attracts an increasing proportion of out-of-area pupils, particularly from North Staffordshire. The school organises French and German language exchanges, other visits abroad and charity fundraising. Soccer, rugby, basketball, hockey, netball, swimming, athletics and gymnastics are among its sporting strengths. The school aims to encourage each child to fulfil its potential, both academically and as rounded human being.
