General information
Background: Dodleston Church of England Primary School is a thriving and popular village school. Established by the Duke of Westminster in 1870, the building has been recently extended to provide a new library, classroom and practical areas. Each classroom has a specialist computer area and the internet is used regularly. The school has close links with the Parish Church of St Mary and Christian values are an important part of school life. There are many opportunities for pupils to broaden their interests including French and dance clubs, football coaching and a programme of sports activities. The school makes full use of the community facilities such as the village hall and field. Junior boys and girls can play netball, hockey, rounders and cricket according to the season. Occasional educational visits are also arranged to reinforce work done in the classroom. The school has a very supportive and successful Parent Teacher and Friends? Association and all parents are automatically members. Several social and money raising events are held throughout the year. The school aims to create a happy and secure environment where everyone feels that their contribution and talents are valued.
