General information

Background: This school was built in 1892 and appeared in late 19th century. It has many historical features including original fireplaces, school bell, bell-tower and original oak-panelled main door, which has recently been restored and re-hung. Modernisation and extension of the school has been a continual process since the 1970s. The parent-teacher association has helped to provide a new and developing corridor library, an infant reading room, and a junior fiction library. To the front of the building is an elevated lawn, believed to be part of a medieval pasture. At the rear of the building are an upper and lower tarmac play areas as well as a large playing field and it is also housed within the grounds is a pond and woodland area. It includes many sporting activities including football, netball, rounders, cricket and cycling. The school takes part in Frodsham Schools cross-country runs, netball, rounders, and football tournaments. The choir has performed with the Frodsham Choral society and has taken part in a Radio Merseyside programme. Individual music tuition is organised by the schools music service and is paid for by parents. The school aims to provide Christian values of love, acceptance and forgiveness.
