General information

Background: Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School is a high performing and extremely successful school. It is a specialist science college set in the Cheshire countryside. High expectations, excellent teaching, an exciting learning environment, emphasis on the core purpose of helping students to learn and achieve, combined with a strong, caring pastoral system, ensure that students of all abilities achieve their potential. Outstanding examination results at GCSE and Advanced Level are consistently amongst the highest within Cheshire and nationally. Teachers, students, support staff, parents and governors work together to nurture the well established ethos of challenge, care, consideration and cooperation which help to deliver a quality education in a caring environment. There is a strong-shared belief that children bring their own particular skills and talents and its aim to recognize, acknowledge and build on them. There is an extensive extra-curricular programme, which extends the provision for students at lunchtimes, after-school and also at weekends. This programme offers both recreational sport and competitive inter-school sport. The school aims to promote, encourage and support helping students to learn and to achieve as the central purpose of the school and learning as an enjoyable life-long activity.
