General information

Background: Tytherington High School is a successful and highly over-subscribed. It is comprehensive school of 1200 pupils serving northeast Macclesfield, Bollington. The school's first concern is the welfare and the happiness of the children. The school aims to provide friendly and supportive environment. The school strives to ensure that all pupils have the best possible chance in achieving their full potential as learners. The school has very high standards and expectations, which all members of its learning community are required to maintain. The school has sporting facilities that include a new community sports complex with a sports hall, gymnasium, sports science laboratory, full size multi-sport Astroturf surface, tennis courts and extensive playing field. Pupils are offered every opportunity to discover and extend individual creative talents in a variety of areas including music, drama, painting, drawing and textiles. The school offers a wide range of academic and vocational courses on site. Sixth form students have their own social and study areas but recently benefited from the opening of a new purpose built state of art learning resource centre and library offering superb study and information support facilities. The school aims to provide learning community encouraging excellence, respect and personal fulfilment. .
