General information

Background: Pimlico is a progressive forward thinking, county comprehensive school which opened in 1970. It has 11 science laboratories, five workshops, two textile rooms and two food technology rooms, six art studios, two gyms, a large indoor swimming pool, a central library, and networked IT facilities throughout the school including five specialist computer rooms. In Years 12 and 13 it offers AS and A2 level courses and GNVQ courses. English and maths GCSE Mature courses are also offered for those wishing to improve their results at this level. Religious education is taught in accordance with the City of Westminster Education Authority's agreed syllabus. The important feature of the curriculum is that all students study drama, music and art in Key Stage 3 and have the opportunity to continue these studies at Key Stage 4. It has a specially equipped careers library for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students and a further careers library for Years 12 and 13. It provides a number of clubs and dramatic, musical and sporting activities. There are also educational visits and journeys both in this country and abroad. The school aim is to educate each child to the very best of her or his ability, to enable all students to achieve academic and social excellence, and to value every student's worth.
